Cold and Flu
Cold and flu season is nothing to sneeze at. Protect yourself this year with the following prevention tips:
* Prevent germs from entering your body by keeping your hands off your eyes, nose and mouth.
* Don’t share water bottles or drink from shared glasses.
* Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and dispose of the tissue afterwards.
* Don’t ask for antibiotics because antibiotics don’t work against viruses such as colds and flu. Inappropriate use can lead to drug resistance.
* Wash your hands frequently.
o First wet your hands and apply liquid or clean bar soap.
o Next, rub your hands vigorously together and scrub all surfaces.
o Continue scrubbing for 10-15 seconds. It is the soap combined with the scrubbing action that helps dislodge and remove germs.
o Rinse well and dry your hands thoroughly.
