Health Tips – The Warning Signs of Heart Attack or Stroke

Heart attack:

  • Pain that doesn’t go away with rest 
    • pain may be in the chest, neck, jaw, shoulder or arm   
    • pain may be a feeling of burning, heaviness, tightness, squeezing or pressure          
  • Shortness of breath  – difficulty breathing
  • Nausea, vomiting or indigestion
  • Sweating – cool, clammy skin
  • Paleness
  • Fear, anxiety, denial
  • General weakness

Stroke:

  • Weakness – sudden weakness or numbness in the face, arm or leg
  • Trouble speaking – sudden, temporary loss of speech or ability to understand speech
  • Vision problems – sudden loss of vision or double vision
  • Headache – sudden severe or unusual headache
  • Dizziness - sudden loss of balance

If you have any of these symptoms, tell someone immediately and call 911. Quick action saves lives!
