You offer some very nice ways to manage stress. I work with a lot of athletes are on how to manage their stress and optimize their lifestyle for softball. I like how you talk about the mom's perspective - it's so true that parents are even busier than the athletes and need help and advice on managing every thing. Great post.

P.S. I have some additional health tips in the softball training tips section of my site. You are welcome to check out them out to add to the great list above.

What a great entry. I am in the thick of things, caring for my two young children, helping my parents take care of my Grandmother, and worrying about taking care of my parents when they need me. Not only am I physically drained most of the time, I am mentally drained because I want to be there for everyone. I try and help take care of my Grandmother as often as I can, she is suffering with Alzheimer's ; but I also have to be there for my kids and all their activities. The sense of responsibility is exhausting.
My Mother is her primary caregiver, and she's also a middle school teacher. One of the things I do to help, is research products which will help make the care taking easier for my other. There are a number of great items out there in the assisted living category which we use on a daily basis.
I have decided that even something as small as, helping my mother find special things to aid in the care of my Grandmother, will make a difference. And then, I physically help as often as I can. The whole process is preparing me to take care of my Mother and Dad when the time comes. The cycle continues.
